Ganpatipule is one of the" Ashta Dwar Devatas" (Eight Welcoming Dieties) of the subcontinent and is regarded as Western's Sentinel God. Throughout the rule of Moguls (in the ballpark of 1600 years before), there was a' kevda' (Flower tree) Jungle at the foot of the slope where the sanctuary of the "Swayambhu" Ganapati is without further ado arranged. Here existed Balbhatji Bhide, a brahmin, who was a leaseholder of the village, throughout the moghul period. Bhide experienced a major particular issue. Bhide being a dead set individual, that he was, made up his brain to surrender sustenance and water work being calmed of the particular cataclysm. He stayed in the Kevda - Jungal for repentance and to love his tutelary direty' mangalmurti' (Lord Ganesh) throughout this period, Bhide had a dream about Lord Ganesh who said, "I have come to Aagargule (Ganesh Gule) to satisfy the wishes of my enthusiasts. You love and appease here, and will be alleviated of all your challenges"

Throughout the same period, one of the dairy animals of Bhide was not giving drain, for which explanation for why, the cowherd kept a nearby watch on her. He was shocked to see that the milk was spilling out of the dairy animals' udder on the spot where the symbol of the God is set at present. The cowherd depicted the occurrence to Bhide. In the wake of cleaning up the whole territory Bhide discovered the icon of Lord Ganesh which he had seen in his vision He manufactured a place of worship here and began performing the customs.

Ganapatipule determined its name from "Ganapati" or the Lord of "Ganas"(army) and Pule' which mean sand dune.
